Welcome to OpenReaders! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our platform, which provides free and open graded readers for language learners.

By accessing or using OpenReaders, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use OpenReaders.

Access is invite-only during our MVP phase.

By using the platform, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

You agree not to share your account or use anyone else’s account.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

You may:

• Read and access graded readers freely.

• Use the content for personal language learning purposes.

• Share links to OpenReaders content.

You agree not to:

• Resell, redistribute, or scrape content from OpenReaders.

• Use automated tools (e.g., bots, scripts) to extract or overload our platform.

• Post harmful, illegal, or offensive content, or misuse the platform in any way.

• Attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with our services or infrastructure.

Unless otherwise stated, all content on OpenReaders is:

• Licensed under open licenses (e.g., Creative Commons) or created by our contributors.

• Clearly marked with its applicable license.

You must respect any usage terms provided with the content. If in doubt, assume non-commercial, attribution-required use.

We use PostHog for product analytics and Supabase for user authentication. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

We rely on services like:

• Supabase (accounts & data)

• PostHog (analytics)

• Google Cloud and Cloudflare (infrastructure & security)

While we do our best to ensure smooth integration, we’re not responsible for issues that originate from these third parties.

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms

• You misuse the platform or data

• We decide to discontinue or limit access during the MVP phase

You can delete your account or request removal of your data at any time by contacting us.

OpenReaders is provided “as is” during its MVP stage.

We make no guarantees about:

• Continuous availability

• Accuracy or completeness of content

• Suitability of the platform for your specific learning goals

Use it at your own risk.

To the extent allowed by law, OpenReaders will not be liable for:

• Indirect or incidental damages

• Data loss, service downtime, or content errors

• Loss of learning progress or missed opportunities

We may update these Terms occasionally. If we do, we’ll notify users through the platform or email.
